Bi-Directional Amplifier Maximum Transmit RF Input Power Capability
Before planning to use our bi-directional amplifiers with your exsisting wireless network card or adapter, always check the maximum RF transmit power rating of your radio. Some USB Wireless Network adapters and Access Points have 100 mW (+20 dBm) maximum RF output power, which is not suitable for the GEM-24G1IDA amplifier, for example. In that cases an additional -3 dB RF attenuator needed to connect the radio to the amplifier. Instead of an attenuator a sufficient lenght of coax cable can be used. Six meters of H-155 type coaxial cable, which has about 3 dB loss might be practical, if you intend to install the amplifier nearby the antenna.
Long-term operation of a fixed gain RF amplifier in overdriven conditions will destroy the amplifier, and void the warranty.
